Work is worship

Here’s something a little blasphemous for Easter Sunday.

In advertising genius George Lois’ punchy little book, Damn Good Advice, he states: “Work is worship.” Maybe that’s why I’m basking in the warm glow of my laptop, rather than sitting in a church pew.

Lois says, “Those of us lucky enough to spend our days doing something we love, something we’re good at, are rich.”

The man behind countless memorable advertising campaigns and business schemes, including convincing Aunt Jemima to make syrup and the “I want my MTV” ad that pulled the music station from the brink, says failure is not an option.

“If you do not work passionately (even furiously) at being the best in the world at what you do, you fail your talent, your destiny, and your god.”
